I think it’s pretty amazing that people have discovered these new technologies to transfer information across the entire world. That the world can now depend on computers, and cellphones, for easygoing lifestyles. No one really has to stress about much…right? Well that’s what I thought as well, but when you really think about it, people, especially teenagers have really become overly dependent on cell phones. omgomgomg!!! it’s insane how dependent we’ve come, even myself (being a teen) yes I text, and it’s become an addiction, something I can’t quite control, so I think. hmmmm school’s have been very strict about the cell phone rule, saying kids become very distracted, that it makes it hard for them to focus. I totally understand this statement. But what should we really do about it? take their phones away, I don’t think it will help much…

One year, one time, I read this book. “It’s Kind of A Funny Story” It really kind of is a funny story if you have a certain type of humor. “It’s so hard to talk when you want to kill yourself” the first line to the first page. Craig Gilner, a young wise boy is accepted into Manhattan’s Executive Pre-Professional High School which he thinks is going to get him the successful life he dreams about. But suddenly he realizes it’s not what he expected, that maybe he isn’t so bright, compared to the other kids he meets at this school. He begins so stressed he nearly kills himself. He is then taken to a mental hospital where he meets new and exciting people, especially a transsexual sex addict, a girl who has scarred her own face with scissors, where his life soon changes.
He also realizes his talent for making maps.

wallflower

The year I reached 8th grade my friend had brought to my attention the perks of being a wallflower, the story I know, and love to this day. The story begins when a boys friend commits suicide, a choice he doesn’t quite understand. He is in the midst of welcoming his presence, to the new and exciting people of high school. When he meets the likable Sam, and Patrick with the unforgettable nickname “nothing”. What I like about this story is that it is written in his perspective as though it’s his journal. He leaves out all real names and fills them in with names that aren’t real to him, he doesn’t want anyone to know who he, or any of his friends truly are. This book has given me a new perspective on things, it’s kind of a coming of age story that really grows on you. ” And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.”

As a child, I remember reading this book with my friends and family, and I never quite expected this great book to be turned into a movie.
It’s been a long time since I have looked back at this story, and I really hope the movie is amazing. I enjoyed the music in the trailer as well, which caught my attention all the more. This story is told by Maurice Sendak an author who brings wisdom and fantasy into the reader’s life.
A great childrens story, and a movie, I’m looking forward to seeing.
